to go please"

| Some of the victims of the bombings in London |
Well girls, here we are again looking at the news at scenes of devastation following a terrorist attack. This time, on two separate occasions, within two weeks of each other, terrorists bombed the London subway and bus system. Over 50 people died in the first attack. Fortunately, and miraculously, the second attack failed (aw, too bad for the terrorists, they probably will be in therapy the rest of their lives trying to deal with the mental load of being total failures. Hey, I know, lets get a fund put together to help pay for their therapy! We can raise taxes to fund it! It will be great helping these guys out, because they're not really bad people, rather they're just a bit misunderstood, that's all.)
Both attacks were carried out by fanatical, psycho-lunaticified nutbags who thought the best thing they could do with their lives was to conduct a suicide bombing against a bunch of innocent people trying to go to work in the morning. After all, those innocent Londoners probably did something in the past to offend the poor, victimized bombers, so maybe the bombings were justified. You know, maybe the offence the Londoners committed against the terrorists was that they once tried to set up a fish and chips restaurant in Karachi, Pakistan (the country that most of the bombers were from). You cant totally blame the bombers, right? I mean, Londoners arent exactly the best of cooks and that fish and chips restaurant thing was just way out of line.
I try to joke about things like this because they make me so sick to my stomach that that's the only way I can cope with this type of insanity. What infuriates me more is listening to the media in the United States cover this story. All I keep hearing is what a shock it is to find out that these bombers were actually citizens of the U.K. Think of it. U.K. citizens bombing their own country. The media goes on and on about it. "The bombers were actually citizens of the United Kingdom. It makes you look over your shoulder everywhere you turn, because, now you have no idea who the terrorists are....". Oh, shut up. To use a British term, I call that type of reporting "poppycock" (anytime you get to use the word "poppycock" in a sentence, do. It's loads of fun.). The media loves to spin whatever they can think of to make a story more sizzling. In this case, the fact that the bombers were UK citizens is totally irrelevant. It has no bearing on the situation at all. What is really important here is the fact that, although they were UK citizens, the bombers were, first and foremost, fanatical, zealot, muslim nutbags bent on destroying freedom. Their country of citizenship makes no difference. It is only important what culture they were raised in (which inevitably leads to form the basis of a person's belief system). Who cares that they lived in England if they were raised in a fanatical muslim environment?
My point (I frequently have no point) is that you dont need to suspect every person in your country because of the thinking that "it could be anybody." No,it rarely ever is just "anybody". Instead, it is almost always (get ready to be offended) someone of middle eastern descent, and that person was raised in a culture of Muslim fanaticism. These are not the peaceful, god-loving people that we used to think of when we thought of muslims, instead, these are the total extremists who would rather blow up the Koran than read it. In fact, even the normal, mainstream muslims are afraid of these people.
Racial profiling actually should be conducted because it is typically a person of that particular background that carries out these attacks. And I know I have just offended the ACLU like nobody's business. But, you know what, the ACLU isn't going to do anything to protect you from being blown up on a train, bus, or in a building. Instead, they are going to whine about offending whatever race of people is responsible for having just killed innocent civilians. Get over it. The time for being non-offensive ended at 8:46am on the 11th of September, 2001. And, by the way ACLU, here's your order of shut-the-hell-up. You want ketchup with that?
'Your dad (signing up for an anger management class soon)

And dont forget to honor your local firemen and women.
Agreed 100% Who cares who gets ticked off, if a bunch of crazy white people went over there and started bombing random innocent people, who think they'd hesitate two seconds to start racial profiling? I'm not saying we should stoop to their level, but there comes a time when liberties must be put aside for security and safety.
I couldn't agree with you more. I happened to be doing mission work in NYC during the bombing. Some of the girls in our group were in a campus ministry with the to TN girls who were in London. We had already been in NYC about 3 weeks at the time and after the bombing it was eerie to see the changes at the subway stops. All of a sunday bomb sniffing dogs and uniformed military with large guns were a common thing. I know people of Middle Eastern decent and even they say they wouldn't be insulted if they had to go through extra screening at the airport if racial profiling was used so long as it meant some of these bad people might be stopped.
If it WERE whites that were being profiled, I'll bet that you'd not be so quick to endorse racial profiling. It's nothing but government sanctioned prejudice, and socially accepted racism
Why is it that you think I'm white? Anyway, if I were white, and whites were setting off bombs (just like Eric Rudolf did at the Olympics and at the abortion clinic) then I would expect to be suspected, questioned, searched etc. It's just the way the world has become. We just need to live with it.
Racial profiling. That implies it has something to do with race. Does it? Does it really? There are white muslims, black muslims, heck I bet there are even yellow muslims. In Iraq muslims are now killing off other muslims, a bit like when in Belfast christians blew up other christians. Not all muslims and christian are that fanatical though. So what does religious profiling bring us, as an alternative? Was Timmy McVeigh a muslim? A christian? mmmm... not sure. The Waco guy, whatsisname? religious, just a nutter, or maybe a bit of both? Wouldn't be surprised...
Racial profiling will lead to racism, not to an end to terrorism. So, you may ask, Mr Swink-know-it-all, what would be a better solution?
Well, first of all realize that terrorism is not the weapon used by the Mighty. It's the weapon used by the Desparate. What makes these people so desparate they don't mind blowing themselves to smithereens? You don't know? Then don't expect them to stop doing it. So there's your answer: start talking instead of profiling.
